mother issues

Just like the rest of the entire world, I have mother issues.  And, some of them are probably just like yours, but I'm sure some of mine are absolutely unique.

Like, today, a man comes into my office that I've only seen twice before.  And, one of those times he had to unlock my mother's door because she doesn't have a key to her own house.  He is not her landlord.  He is a complete stranger that pulled a travel trailer into her back yard, hooked up to her electricity, eats in her house and takes a shower when he likes.  AND he has a key.  Where did he get the key, you may ask...  Well, BTE, aka Best Thing Ever, gave it to him.

BTE is the man just older than me that lives in my mother's house.  And, he has for the last 4 years or so.  Yes, she's 76 and he's 56 or 57.  He's a freeloader/bum/alcoholic/abusive/hateful/sorry excuse for a man.  (I told you the very first time that I planned to spill my guts.)  And, it's not as if Mom has any money - she lives on her social security - and that's all.  She owns nothing except a bunch of old used furniture.  But, she continues to let BTE live with her and take her money.  But, back to the story...

Travel trailer man comes into my office today complaining that BTE (he uses his real name) called the 'cops' on him today for not paying his rent.  Have I told you that Travel trailer man, 'TTM' paid BTE $300 last month to help with the bills?  Of course, BTE doesn't pay any bills.  That's what Mom's SSI is for.  So TTM wants me to come talk some sense into my mother about BTE.  BTE has a new girlfriend, he's been spending the last couple of weeks with her, but since it's almost pay day for Mom, he's back at her house.  Now, I find it a little ironic that TTM is tattling on BTE.  One of them is really no better than the other.  But what's a girl to do?

Mom is a very independent 76.  She has always heard only what she wants to hear, and it's no different with BTE.  The only way I can change this situation is to take over guardianship of her.  And, honestly, I'm not sure I'm ready for that.  I am SURE she's not ready for it.  Although her dementia issues might say differently.

How's a child to know that it's absolutely time to step in?

I forgot my url...

I thought I'd use this wonderful blogspot to 'spill' and just when I needed to spill - I can't find where I'm supposed to spill!  I mean who starts a blog and forgets to write down the url or the password or anything? Me, yep I do.

I'm coming back very soon to start my spilling moments.  I have one follower and I'm afraid I may have lost her since it's been so long.  Please hang on.... I'm coming back.

Reasons

So, I have my first real, anonymous blog here.  I started this because while I'm normally a happy, cheerful individual that wants the world to see my smile, there are still many things in my life, and I'm sure in yours, that make me need a place to spill my guts.  Sometimes I need to just 'vomit' the truth.  And, this is where I plan to do so.  If you find this blog and you live through some of the same issues, please let me know.  I believe we are better together and that God allows us to go through certain things so we can use them to benefit others.  It won't all be bad, but there will definitely be some reality here.  My xanga spot contains mostly positive things.  But this one, this one is real life - the good, the bad and the very bad.
